Endometriose é a condição em que um tecido, semelhante ao que reveste útero internamente, cresce fora do útero. Os locais mais comuns de se encontrar focos de endometriose são os ovários, as trompas de falópio, o intestino, o aparelho urinário e as áreas próximas ao útero.
Algumas mulheres com endometriose apresentam poucos ou nenhum sintoma, enquanto outras têm dor e dificuldade de engravidar. Não há cura para a endometriose, mas existem várias opções de tratamento para controle da doença.
